Crew Project: Diversity

I was given two shots from the bus stop scene to animate. The first shot featured the antagonist throwing a ball of hate directly towards the victim and the second was of the victim being hit by the ball. The complexity of the scenes was nothing I had ever tackled before, because of the angles and the crowds of people. However I didn’t let that faze me and worked outside of my comfort zone pushing myself as an animator. I think the layout and composition of the first scene works really well, and I was proud of how the shot turned out. I struggled a bit with animating the woman who throws the ball, as the perspective was tricky to work out. To help me I looked at how baseball players throw as reference because they throw a ball in an exaggerated and forceful manner. I think I managed to convey this action well getting a good sense of anticipation and timing, however if given more time I would have liked to in-between the throw more making the action smoother.
