Background project: city environment

As part of the background project we were given several tasks to think about and complete. The first one I chose to do was the city environment. Here we were asked to do 5 structural drawings thinking about just the basic shapes, eyeline and perspective. I drew two of them digitally and three of them in my sketch book with pen and pencil. 

I really enjoyed this task, however I found getting the perspective right quite challenging. The buildings in the city environment are so geometric, that even the smallest of mistakes can make the whole drawing look wrong, you can get away with this more in natural environments as they have more organic shapes. If I could improve this project I would play around with different eye levels, looking from above or looking upwards from low down. This would have made the shots more interesting to look at.
